The founder and head of the Italian NGO “La Nostra Africa” is Giorgio Girella. He was born on January 8, 1973 in Copparo, Italy (province of Ferrara) and earns his living as a self-employed person by planning lighting projects.
He has been regularly involved in charitable work since the early 2000s. He gained his first experience in this field in 2002 in India as a volunteer in a leper station in Bangalore. This was followed in 2004 by a volunteer assignment in Mali to build a well. In 2006, he moved to Togo, where he helped out in an infirmary in Lomé. He discovered his love for Kenya in 2007 while volunteering in the slums of Nairobi. In 2008, he founded the NGO “La Nostra Africa”, which carries out numerous projects in the form of volunteer camps with great commitment and initiative.
Giorgio is an incredible idealist and pragmatist who works tirelessly for the interests of the Maasai people.
