Patrik and Theavy Bun Roux

Swiss national Patrik Roux founded the NGO avec together with his Cambodian wife Theavy Bun. Whether at the Safe House or during outings – hundreds of children lovingly call him “Papa.” Before arriving in Cambodia, Patrik worked in Switzerland as a specialist in vocational training for people with multiple disabilities. It was through this work that he discovered his true calling: protecting the most vulnerable. 

Theavy Bun, his wife, is not only the director of the Safe House but also its heart and soul. A brilliant organizer, she handles even the most complex situations with confidence. As an entrepreneur, mother, educator, nurse, poultry farmer, negotiator with local authorities, and mediator in severe family crises, she fills many roles – all with exceptional dedication. When there seems to be no solution, Theavy finds one. She is a master of improvisation and delegation. 

Together, Patrik and Theavy are able to overcome even the toughest challenges. They form a remarkable team deeply respected for their tireless work and humanity.
