Today is World Doll Day. International Doll Day was initiated by Mildred Seeley in 1986 to celebrate not only dolls, but also the caring love of their owners.
Mildred Seeley (1918 – 2001) was a doll collector and entrepreneur. She also wrote numerous books on the subjects of “doll making” and “doll collecting”. Her doll collection was sold in 2002 for 1.8 million US dollars.
However, the little doll owners in the photos are certainly not interested in the material value of their dolls, but in the fact that they can play with them as a family, care for them like real babies or brush their hair.
