We are so excited, we just can’t hide it!
Today we have great news for the further development of the “Femmes des rizières” project, which aims to give young women in Cambodia a prospect for a self-determined future. Details of the project can be found here. We are very proud that we can now present the designer for the project. It is the talented Gabrielle Friedmann, who will spend three months in Cambodia from July 5, 2018, working on the foundations for the first “Femmes des rizières” collection. Gabrielle is 22 years old and a graduate of the renowned fashion school L’Atelier Chardon-Savard, where she completed a Bachelor’s degree in fashion design. She gained her first design experience at the Parisian avant-garde label “Minime” and most recently at the ski fashion manufacturer “Black Crow” in Chamonix. In addition to her passion for fashion design, she loves traveling, hiking, skiing, writing and music. Gabrielle is very interested in philosophy and psychology and has recently discovered gemstone therapy for herself.
We have already asked Gabrielle a few questions in writing so that she can introduce herself – she will also report on the progress of the project from Cambodia.
We wish Gabrielle all the best and look forward to her suggestions.
And now, let them have their say:
Q: Can you briefly introduce yourself?
A: Hello, I’m Gabrielle, I’m from Paris and I’m 22 years old. I recently completed my training as a fashion designer at the Atelier Chardon Savard. This training allowed me to group many different activities around my great passion for fashion design.
Q: Why did you apply for the internship at “Femmes des rizières”?
A: This internship is almost (or completely) the internship of my dreams as it includes a lot of things I like very much: creation, travel, I have an opportunity to get to know the country of Cambodia, discover a new culture and at the same time work on a wonderful project for a good cause.
Q: What are your goals for Cambodia?
A: My goals for Cambodia are to find ideas and create products that reflect the identity of the “Femmes des rizières”. The products should be both creative and qualitative and represent the beautiful soul of the brand.
Q: Is there anything you’re afraid of?
A: I’m more excited than scared and can’t wait until I get there on July 5th. Of course, I’ll probably get a little nervous once I’m on the plane as it’s really an exciting and new adventure for me. I’m really looking forward to it!
Q: What is your biggest challenge?
A: My biggest challenge is time. Three months pass quickly and I have to work creatively and efficiently at the same time.
Q: What do you do in your free time?
A: That depends on my mood. I like to read and draw (of course!), make jewelry, do sports and love to travel….
Thank you Gabrielle!
